Colporteur
Privacy Policy
Colporteur is built to keep your information private. Everything you enter stays on your device. There are no accounts, no servers, and no tracking.
Information the app stores
Colporteur stores the information you choose to enter so it can show it back to you. This may include:
- Names, addresses, and notes for the people you visit
- Visit types, dates, history, and return-visit frequencies
- Field-service hours and their categories
- Daily goals, monthly plans, and calendar entries
- Your app preferences (goals, appearance, and settings)
This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData), inside a private app container shared only between Colporteur and its home-screen widget. It is never sent to the developer or to any third party.
Information the app does not collect
- No account or sign-up is required, so we never see your identity.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included.
- No usage data, device identifiers, or crash data is sent to us.
- The app does not connect to any server operated by the developer.
System features you can choose to use
- Apple Reminders
- If you turn on reminder syncing, Colporteur asks for permission and creates reminders for your scheduled visits in Apple's Reminders app. Those reminders are managed by iOS and stored in your own iCloud/Apple account. Colporteur only writes the reminders you ask for; you can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Reminders.
- Maps & directions
- Addresses you enter are shown on a map inside the app. When you tap "Directions," Colporteur hands the address to Apple Maps to navigate. Apple Maps' handling of that request is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Colporteur does not track your location in the background.
- iCloud backups
- If you have iCloud device backup enabled, your Colporteur data may be included in that encrypted backup, just like other apps. This is managed entirely by Apple under your Apple account settings.
Children's privacy
Colporteur does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, and stores nothing off your device. It is not directed at children under 13.
Your control over your data
Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control. You can edit or delete any entry inside the app at any time. Deleting the app removes its data from your device (data already included in an iCloud backup is managed through your Apple account).
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will be reflected in a future app update.
